Sciencetech’s PSS1 flash solar simulator is designed to illuminate large photovoltaic devices up to 1m × 1m in size with 1 Sun intensity, using a built-in beam-conditioning reflector to maximize the uniform light distribution. The default spectral match is to ASTM AM1.5G, using a heavy-duty xenon flash lamp and spectral filtering. The flash is 500µs at 90% of peak intensity, and 2.5ms at 50% of peak intensity, but pulse stretching options are available for longer, flatter pulses (purchased separately).

This product includes a flash system, power supply, lamp, and an air mass filter (AM1.5G). Other filters are available at additional cost. Available accessories include IV measurement systems, pre-configured host computers, and sample holding and cooling options.

Sciencetech’s large area Highly Collimated Flash Solar Simulator is capable of illuminating targets up to 1.8 x 1.5m (or 1.5m diameter) with uniform solar illumination. Our flash system is manufactured to achieve Class AAA by ASTM standards for targets within that area (although IEC and JIS are available upon request). This makes our system one of the largest Class AAA solar simulators available on the market.
Capable of achieving collimation angles of 0.5 degrees, the Highly Collimated Solar Simulator allows testing of Concentrated Photovoltaics (CPV) and other photovoltaic technologies that require an extremely high degree of collimation.
Coupling proprietary Sciencetech Concentrator to an optical projection system allows us to provide unmatched uniformity and power on target, as well as the flexibility to modify the system to your precise specifications.

Sciencetech’s FSSP solar simulator is designed to illuminate targets of 1x1m with 1 sun, or smaller targets with multiple suns. The default spectral match is to ASTM AM1.5G. The flash itself is a stable 1ms length, with options available (purchased separately) to stretch the pulse. Timing and number of flashes can be computer controlled. This unit is a Class AAA flash solar simulator by default, with options available to reduce spatial uniformity in order to increase target size.

Sciencetech can also offer increased spectral ranges and other additional features upon request.
