9072S

9072S is a small 1/8m scanning monochromator. The 9072S uses plane gratings 30mm x 30mm in size and utilizes a Czerny Turner optical configuration. The 9072S is designed to be used with single channel detectors or connected to another 9072S to form a double additive or subtractive system. The base 9072S system has a triple grating turret which is computer controlled. 4-grating turret is optional.

Gratings and Grating Holders (120-8512) are sold separately.
The 9072S is compatible with SS80 and SS84 adjustable slits and SS-F fixed slits. Comes with the adjustable slit.
It includes Sci-mono software for basic wavelength control. Our fully-featured spectroscopy package, SciSpec, is sold separately.

For applications requiring better signal to noise, reduced stray light and better resolution than the standard model a double additive model (9072DA) is available.
For applications requiring a tunable bandpass or notch filter light source, the double subtractive model (9072DS) is an ideal choice.

In the 9072DA, the inbound light is dispersed by the first grating then passed through an intermediate slit where stray light is rejected and then spectrally dispersed again by the second grating.

The double dispersion of the double additive monochromators results in a doubling of the dispersion a single monochromator leading to better optical resolution. The bandpass is half that of a single 9072 monochromator.

In the 9072DS, the grating in the second monochromator is arranged such that it reverses the spectral dispersion of the first monochromator. This leads to a spectrally homogenized beam at the output port of the second monochromator and greatly reduced stray light, ideal for spectroradiometry, Raman or UV measurements of solar radiation.
The arrangement of the 9072DS allows it to act either as a tunable bandpass filter or a tunable notch filter. Arranged as a tunable bandpass filter the bandpass of the device is determined by the width of an intermediate slit. When arranged as a tunable notch filter the width of the notch is determined by the physical width of an opaque notch placed at the intermediate slit position.
The 9072DS can also be used to pass or filter out several selected wavelengths by using a custom intermediate multi-slit mask instead of a single width intermediate slit.
Grating holders are not included.

9030 - Compact 100mm Monochromator

The Sciencetech 9030 monochromator is a compact, single grating scanning monochromator. It has a manual wavelength selector dial with an optional external motor drive for computerized control. The compact design is made possible by its Seya-Namioka optical layout, using a single holographic concave grating and f/3.2 aperture. A pair of removable fixed-width slits are included for the input and output ports. Additional removable slits and custom width slits can also be purchased separately. There are 5 grating choices (sold separately) covering from UV to near-IR. The 9030 monochromator cannot be used as a spectrograph and therefore only accepts single channel and PMT detectors; however, it can be used as an excitation wavelength tunable light source. The input and output ports are purposely placed optically in-line, making it a simple addition to a straight line beam in an optical system.

The 9030DA double additive monochromator consists of two 9030 monochromators placed in series. Stray light is drastically reduced in a double monochromator, and in the 9030DA it is further minimized by the use of concave holographic gratings. The inbound light is dispersed by the first grating and again by the second. Both gratings rotate simultaneously in the same direction, and in the DA the monochromators are coupled so that the dispersion is double that of a single 9030 monochromator. Bandpass is half of the corresponding 9030 monochromator for the same output slit, and resolution using a 100 µm slit is 0.4 nm.
This includes one set of standard slits, but the grating must be selected/specified separately.

9030DS - Double Subtractive 100mm Compact Monochromator

The 9030DS consists of two 100 mm scanning monochromators placed in series in subtractive mode. Bandpass is determined by the width of an intermediate slit, but the 9030DS has a net output dispersion of zero because the monochromators are optically coupled so that the dispersion of the second grating cancels that of the first. This leads to homogenized wavelengths at the output port – there is no spectrum, only a single undispersed slit image – which allows the unit to act as a tunable bandpass or notch filter.
Stray light of all sorts is drastically reduced in a double monochromator, and in the 9030DS it is further minimized by the use of concave holographic gratings. It is ideal for applications where stray light is a problem – where there may be a strong scattered background, such as in spectroradiometry, Raman or UV measurements of solar radiation.
This price includes a standard set of slits including a standard intermediate (inverted) slit, but does not include gratings. We also offer customized intermediate (inverted) slits; please speak with your authorized Sciencetech technical support staff member.

The Sciencetech 9010 is a 200 mm focal length asymmetric Czerny-Turner scanning monochromator. This model has an f/3.5 aperture, although a faster f/2.6 is available as a separate product. The manual selector dial with readout for wavelength selection allows for quick and accurate selection of wavelength. Up to two gratings are supported on its sine drive rotating turret. A manual knob on top of the monochromator allows the user to select the active grating. Two bilaterally adjustable slits for its input and output port are included. The 9010 and 9010F scanning monochromators offer optimum resolution for all spectral ranges and low stray light levels. A motorized upgrade is available for this monochromator. If you wish to purchase the motorized version please indicate this at the time of order.

This model has an f/3.5 aperture (for the “Fast” version with f/2.5, please see the 9055F). It has a computer controlled turret for automatic grating and wavelength selection.
Both the input and output port are located on the front faceplate of the monochromator, and the system includes one SS80 slit at the input port.

9055DX - Double Additive/Subtractive 1/4m Monochromator

9055-DX is a motorized double 1/4m monochromator that can be switched between additive and subtractive configurations. Double monochromators have the advantage of extremely low stray light levels by virtue of using two gratings. An intermediate slit between the two units, used to define the wavelengths that pass to the second unit, also masks off light scattered within the body of the first unit. In double additive operation the 9055DX effective focal length (1/2m), dispersion and resolution (1.7nm/mm and .09nm with a 1200 l/mm grating) are doubled compared to a single unit, making this mode useful where high resolution is important. In double subtractive operation there is no dispersion in the output beam and only a single slit image appears at the output instead of a broad spread of spectral images. This allows the system to operate as a tuneable bandpass or notch filter.
This system includes two manual slits (one input and one intermediate). Motorized upgrades and additional slits may be purchased separately.
Gratings also need to be purchased separately, with a minimum of 2 gratings required for the system to operate. Please speak with your Sciencetech technical sales member to ensure proper grating selection.

9057 - Half meter f/8 Monochromator

The 9057 is a half meter monochromator and spectrograph with an f/8 aperture. This system is a Czerny-Turner design optimized to reduce aberrations.
This monochromator supports up to three 50x50mm gratings on a computer controlled turret. It includes a single input slit by default; please select appropriate output mounting (slit, detector or CCD mounting, etc…) when ordering.
A fast version of the 9057, the 9057F, operates with 64x64mm gratings and offers better throughput with the same optical pathlength. Please discuss with your Sciencetech technical sales staff member to find if the 9057F is a better choice for your particular application.

The Sciencetech 9057F is a fast half meter motorized Czerny-Turner monochromator (and spectrograph) with an f/5.9 aperture. This is a “faster” model with larger optics for higher light throughput compared to the standard 9057 with f/8 aperture. Both models utilize a computer controlled motorized turret for automatic grating and wavelength selection. The regular 9057 model supports up to three 50 x 50mm gratings whereas the larger optics 9057F model supports up to two 64 x 64mm (clear aperture) gratings.

(9150X) 1.5m Single Echelle Spectrometer

This is an Echelle Spectrometer designed for diffraction limit operation, that provides a full spectrum coverage without gaps over a tunable 150nm range at a resolution of ~2pm in single pass mode. The spectrometer uses two gratings, two 1.5m f.l. parabolic reflectors and a corrector lens to produce a cross-dispersed echellegram that is recorded on a 3k x 3k cooled CCD camera with 12u pixels, at a dispersion of 1 pm/pixel. The long, thin echellegram is fit to the square CCD format using a 3 section image slicer, to maximize wavelength coverage and resolution.
Input optics include a micrometer adjustable rectangular input slit and a computer controlled source selector that can switch between four available input ports, useful in calibration.
Operational specifications are (for 31.5 l/mm 150×50 mm echelle, single pass)

Under optimum conditions with a 2400 l/mm grating it can achieve a resolution of 0.004 nm in single pass mode. This model of monochromator accomodates a grating on a removable kinematic mount, allowing the user to manually swap one grating for another without losing alignment. Please note that this product includes one slit, but does not include any additional slits or a grating. These must be purchased separately. 9490 - 1m Monochromator f/9.7 Single Pass

The 9490 monochromator is Sciencetech’s second highest resolution monochromator, with 1m focal length. With a 2400 l/mm grating it can achieve resolutions better than 0.01 nm in the standard single pass configuration. (With model 9490SD, even higher resolution is available by switching to a “double pass” configuration that effectively doubles the focal length to 2m). This version uses 84 x 84 mm gratings for an aperture of f/9.7.By default the monochromator comes with a single grating kinematic mount. Users can manually swap one grating for another without losing alignment. An optional motorized 4-grating turret is available for automatic grating selection without opening the housing. The 9490 has a flat field output allowing it to operate as a spectrograph using a linear array, multi-channel detector to capture the entire output spectrum continuously. Sciencetech provides a selection of 1″ wide CCDs and photo-diode linear array detectors mounted on a multi-axis adjustable focusing platform for use with the 9490.

The 9490 is Sciencetech’s second largest monochromator, with a 1m focal length. It can achieve resolutions as high as 0.017nm in its standard “single pass” configuration with a 1200 l/mm grating. Up to twice that resolution is possible with the “double pass” configuration. This model of the 9490 allows the user to switch between the two modes seamlessly by shifting the position of a set of mirrors (easily done by rotating a single knob).
